Who is Nick Morgan?

Nick Morgan, registered at Companies House as Nicholas Barry Morgan, is a licensed insolvency practitioner and the longest-serving of the two directors of NTF Financial Solutions Limited, appointed on 19 October 2008.

Since 27 March 2019 he has also been a director of NTF Corporate Solutions Limited, the NTF group company for limited companies (Companies House officers register (opens in a new tab)).

His fellow licence holder at the practice is James Kaye, our other licensed insolvency practitioner. For the company itself, read who NTF Financial Solutions are and how we are regulated.

How can I check Nick Morgan's licence?

Nick Morgan's licence appears on the Insolvency Service's Find an insolvency practitioner register (opens in a new tab) under the name Nicholas Morgan, IP number 9078, with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales as his authorising body.

The register shows NTF Corporate Solutions Limited as his company. Because practitioners choose whether to be listed, the Insolvency Service says the register is not a complete list (opens in a new tab); for licence status the ICAEW's own records are the authority.

Those records, in the ICAEW directory entry for Nicholas Barry Morgan (opens in a new tab), show that he holds an insolvency licence and is not an ICAEW member. They link him to NTF Corporate Solutions Ltd and to NTF Financial Solutions Limited.

What does Nick Morgan do at NTF?

Nick Morgan is one of the two licence holders behind NTF's personal insolvency work, which means he can act as nominee and supervisor of an Individual Voluntary Arrangement, roles that section 388 of the Insolvency Act 1986 (opens in a new tab) defines as acting as an insolvency practitioner, and advise on bankruptcy.

In an IVA the nominee checks what you can afford and puts your proposal to creditors; after they approve it, the supervisor collects your monthly payments, pays your creditors and reviews your circumstances every year. Fees apply, and an IVA may affect your credit rating.
