Who is James Kaye?

James Kaye, whose full name on the Companies House register is James Stephen Kaye, is a licensed insolvency practitioner and one of the two directors of NTF Financial Solutions Limited, the Wilmslow practice that helps people, sole traders and partners with personal debt.

He became a director on 6 March 2009 and the company secretary on 26 April 2009, and he has also been a director of NTF Corporate Solutions Limited, part of the NTF group, since 27 March 2019 (Companies House officers register (opens in a new tab)).

He shares the practice's licensed work with Nick Morgan, our other licensed insolvency practitioner. You can also read who NTF Financial Solutions are and how we are regulated.

How can I check James Kaye's licence?

You can check James Kaye's licence on the Insolvency Service's Find an insolvency practitioner register (opens in a new tab), which lists him as IP number 9373 with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales as his authorising body.

That entry names NTF Corporate Solutions Limited as his company, at Suite 4, Aus-Bore House in Wilmslow. The register only holds practitioners who agreed to be listed, so it is not a complete list (opens in a new tab) of every insolvency practitioner in the UK.

The ICAEW's own directory entry for James Kaye (opens in a new tab) records that he holds an insolvency licence and is not an ICAEW member, and links him to both NTF Corporate Solutions Ltd and NTF Financial Solutions Limited.

What does James Kaye do at NTF?

At NTF, James Kaye is one of the two licence holders for our personal insolvency work, so he can act as nominee and supervisor of an Individual Voluntary Arrangement, roles section 388 of the Insolvency Act 1986 (opens in a new tab) reserves for insolvency practitioners, and advise on bankruptcy.

A nominee looks at your income, spending, debts and assets and puts a proposal to your creditors. Once they agree it, the supervisor runs the arrangement: collecting your payments, paying your creditors and reviewing your circumstances each year. Fees apply, and an IVA can affect your credit rating.

If you are unhappy with how a case has been handled, our page on how to make a complaint about an insolvency practitioner sets out each step.
